Retail: Odessa is home to one major shopping mall and more than 30 retail shopping centers. Music City Mall is the largest retail shopping center between El Paso and Ft. Worth. Music City Mall is home to a N.H.L. regulation-size ice rink, an 11-screen state-of-the-art theatre, and several new stores to the mall’s already outstanding mix of merchants.

Many large retailers such as Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, H-E-B, Office Depot, Burlington Coat Factory and Target have locations in Odessa. A major shopping development in the growing northeast sector of the city has become home to Home Depot, Century Theaters, Staples and a variety of restaurants and other retailers.

Office: Odessa’s 51 office buildings contain more than 1.2 million square feet of space with a 23.7 percent vacancy rate. Average lease rates range from $6 to $15.00 per square foot.

Business/Industrial Parks: Odessa has two industrial parks containing more than 500 acres of available land. These parks are located in industrial districts operated by the City of Odessa. By locating in these districts, firms are provided municipal services, but generally remain outside the corporate city limits.

Construction: New construction figures for 2006 indicate a total of 470 building permits issued, with a total construction value of $175,151,355.
