Labor Force

The Permian Basin’s average civilian labor force in 2006 was approximately 192,346. Odessa maintains a highly skilled labor force that consistently works under a changing technological environment. Specialized machine tool skills are abundant and adaptable to many emerging technology areas. The Ector County Independent School District has implemented several tech prep programs, as well as a Career Center, to assist with the training needed to educate our future labor force.
